MY Story
I was born and raised in a small coastal town in New Jersey. My parents and grandparents were restaurateurs, thus imprinting a food obsession at an early age. I grew up under-foot, as my mom worked the line of our family diners. I cut my teeth in this chaotic world of pedestrian food – hearty, tasty, and, slung at a high speed.
In my 20s, the travel bug sunk its teeth, and I’ve since explored over 60 countries. Yet, I'm not a checkbox traveler. I prefer to immerse myself, spending extended periods in each place, connecting with the locals and expats who call it home. Food is my true love, and I see culture through its lens of culinary traditions, markets, farms, producers, and restaurants.
Professionally, I've been a serial entrepreneur, navigating successes and failures in a variety of industries. I've owned an adventure tour company specializing in Southeast and South Asia, a residential technology integration firm (home automation and cinema), multiple tech start-ups, a meatball food truck, and my neighborhood paddleboard, kayak, and e-foil shop. I’ve worn a lot of hats.
Now, in midlife with an empty nest, and my son venturing off to college, I've taken up content creation to share my escapades with like-minded sorts. I’ve got strong opinions, a healthy dose of snobbery, and a passion for all things hedonistic. I see myself as an elder statesman to the modern media platforms. I’m bringing GenX to TikTok.
